Originally called the "Pullman kitchen” for its resemblance to a long sleeper car on a Pullman passenger train, the one-wall kitchen layout is a great solution for smaller spaces because of its practical design and space saving elements. Described effectively by the name, the U-shape kitchen layout has three walls of cabinets. Best applied to a wide floor plan, this design can also be achieved through adding an island to an existing L-Shape layout. The U-shape kitchen is ideal for larger homes and families, as there is plenty of room for multiple people in the kitchen.
